We are having the most fantastic Christmas break EVER!! Hope you all have as well!!

We went on our first proper fishing trip up the beach on the weekend. Their is a river near us, and the mouth of it is just up the beach. A 10 minute drive along the beach gets us to the mouth of it. And so we found it some decent fish there. I caught a baby Bream, Ben caught a Trevally and a Queenfish. Not to mention some of the live bait we caught in the cast net.

It really is a lovely spot.. But we've found that when the tide turns here, it does it fast. There is only one way in and out for driving up. So we have to keep a very close eye on the tide. Coming up next week, we should have good tides to go up early in the morning stay all day and return late in the afternoon. We can't wait its been quite awhile since we've able to spend all day at the beach fishing!

Ben and the boys qutie chuffed with his catch!!

We have collected some goodies from our walks and are going to use them for our Christmas table on Christmas Day. The Theme, Aussie/Beachy/Earthy Christmas... Would love to paint some of these to jazz them up a little more, but sort of defeats the purpose of earthy/natural.... What do you think???

When our close friends from Noosa (very soon to be our friends from Darwin!) were packing up there house to move. She decided she didn't want her ice cream maker anymore. And gave it to me. Along with a waffle maker.. The boys were so very excited.

So today we have made Ice Cream. There are many different recipes to make homemade ice cream. I choose a very very simple one for our first go.

The 4 ingredients needed. How easy.

Mixing. The bowl it's mixed in needs to be frozen first for at least 48 hours. The mixture once mixed initially needs to be put in the fridge to cool right down so it freezes easier when it is in the mixer above.

Finished product! YUM!!

I am now looking forward to trying the other variations/recipes and come up with some of my own too!!

The beach is where we seem happiest.

My cowboy is adjusting so well with the move. Taking daddy's orders of being "the MAN of the house" very seriously!!

Blue eyes on the other hand, is taking his time. And making it difficult for us. Well me.

But as soon as our feet hit the sand and our eyes land on the surf, everything is forgotten and we have the most fabulous time together. If it was feasable to spend all day everyday at the beach we would, but then we wouldn't acquire our new routine we are aiming for.. We will get there, you don't get anywhere without some hard work, some patience and ALOT of positive thoughts!!!

Tomorrow we are off to get a new Christmas Tree!! Woohoo!

A few photo's for you.

This is our kitchen looking from the dining table. I've never had so many cupboards in my kitchen before love it!

Looking from the edge of our kitchen over to the dining and lounge room. There is a whole other side opposite these rooms will take more photo's today.

The one bedroom upstairs we have turned into the toy room. Think the boys are happy?!

The toy room has a walk in rob that we will turn into the office.

We've already turned our front door into the beach house, boardies, towels, hats and beach bag at the ready!!

Bruce is not only good company his lead is excellent for holding our thongs while on the beach.

There is a huge path that runs along the esplanade, Great for riding on!

I've been living in limbo land for the last 6ish weeks, well actually going onto 7 weeks i think.. Ben is enjoying his new job. Having alot of learning curves, inlcuding some that are bad days. But that's all how you learn. After 6 weeks, we FINALLY have someone to rent out our house. We had to drop the price a little to generate more interest in it and it worked YAY!! Ben applied for a house at Moore Park Beach on the weekend, and we've been accepted for it DOUBLE YAY!! Now just to work out with the real estate when it will be ready for us to move in etc. Book the hire truck for us to move all our belongings out of the storage shed.. So we are getting there.

On other news, within a week both of our closest friends are moving.. Tadd is doing wonderfully in the army, so Tadd, Erin and their 3 boys will be posted up to Darwin in the NT after he complete's his training.. And my chocolate making friend and her hubby are moving back to Canada, big move, but something that will make them so super happy. So i am personally glad we will be able to move or be in the process of organising things to move at a similar time as i will need the distraction, to keepy my mind off close friends moving as well.. Thankgod for wonderful technology to keep in touch. Of course not the same as a letter in the mail. But we will do those to. The boys are really good at collecting things, so special mystery boxes will be sent off everywhere!!

Hope everyone is well in blog land! I'm off to wait for more news from the real estate! :-)

I will be offline from blogland for a little while. Ben has taken the job. He was in Gladstone last week for a weeks trial and he really really liked it. And the bosses liked him. So he handed in his 4 weeks notice with his current job. Then he'll be off up to his new job. We'll follow up to live in the Bundaberg area, once our house is rented and find a house to rent up there... So alot is happening here. We are very excited for our new journey, would be even better if we could take all our friends and family with us lol, but that's too many to fit in one house haha! Hope everyone is good in blog land. Blogger is still not letting me comment on anything GRRR! Will update you all when it all settles down some :-)

First of all i'd like to say that blogger will not let me comment on any blogs including my own.. Thankyou blogger, hopefully it sorts itself out soon!

On other news, we've been yet again here there and everywhere. Ben is currently exploring a new job. With his dad a little north from our current location. So a move would be on the cards.

We have both been doing copious amounts of research on the topic, our brains are almost ready to explode!!

Hope all is well with everyone else in blog land! Will update you all when i've been updated haha!

Where have we been.

Have we been busy?!

Ben purchased a new motor for the rotisserie. Mmmmm Roast pork cooked over an open fire.

Cowboy has his first loose tooth. Bottom front your left. He is very EXCITED!!

I've experimented with some scrubs, and have some goodies on there way for more experimenting ;-)

We cleaned out our back gardens and mulched them, and now our Iris's are starting to bloom. I've counted so far 26 buds making their way up to our beautiful winter sunshine.

Poor Nigel went to fishie heaven. Our last round of very cold temps was the deal breaker. RIP Nigel.

Meet our new Gold fish, The white molly is Cowboys and his name is Nemo. Blue eyes is the fantail and his name is Faster.. Interesting, both are as silly as each other.

I purchased a new chair for people to relax in whilst i give them a Mani or a pedi, The boys love it too!

Today is Cowboys Birthday. Big number 5!! We had a small party in the park with yummy ice cream cake. And he received a big load of awesome gifts. One very happy 5 year old! Hope everything is good for everyone else in blog land!
We are off to look at a kindy for cowboy to attend a couple of days a week tomorrow. He is super excited about going to a "school" me not so much. But it will be good for both the boys. And i hope cause far LESS fighting between the 2. And prepare Cowboy for school next year.. Crikey!!

Tribute! ;-)

I don't have alot of photo's of the subject in question, but have gone through and found some good ones to share! Our dear friend and god father to our boys, is off to the army tomorrow for his training for 5 months. So i thought i would send him off with a smile, and hopefully not an angry phone call for putting up so many photo's of him hehehe!

We are wishing you all the best for your new journey, we know your going to rock it, you just keep rememebering that! Can't wait to catch up with you at the end of your training!

P.s Ez Drop the boys off here anytime for some relief time! haha ;-)

I really have no idea what order the photo's are in, but enjoy the photo's of TADD!!

I've been doing some baking today! And what i have made are YUMMO!

Cheese Biscuits.

1 1/2 cup Chedder Cheese, 1/2 cup spelt flour, 1/4 cup S/R flour, 4 tbsp Butter.

Mix all in a food processor for roughly 2 minutes, or until forms into a smooth ball.
Let it sit for half hour in the fridge.
Roll out to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut with however big or small you want. Cook on 170c for about 10-12 minutes. Until edges are barely brown.

Boys LOVE Them!

Spelt flour, Garlic, Spring onion and capsicum Focaccia Bread. I could have left it to rise a bit longer, but it was almost lunch time and i was getting hungry and wanted to taste me lovely creation!

Work again tomorrow! Hope your having a good week!

The Tribe.

This will be the first and last time we fill the car up with more children than adults.. Enjoy it granny! It will not becoming a common occurance! hahaha

The 5 boys have been playing really well, we've only had 1 major blue and that was between brothers. A few age issues, but they all re-unite to play again.

GOD They EAT alot!! They are constantly playing so they need alot of feul to top them up.. I had to make piklets this morning as i was running out of other food items that would fill their tums up!

Took them all of 5 minutes to down a double batch of piklets and a cup each of milo.. Mum and Dad (to the 3 boys) are on their way back to pick them up. Although their youngest told me this morning that he was staying another 2 nights and wanted the Ben10 bed to sleep in tonight. I informed him he was going home today. His respone 'Oh' and walked off.. lol I think he is enjoying the trampoline a little too much!

anywho off the check the tribe and get some thinks done before i work tomorrow. Hope you've all had a good weekend. I'll be in bed early tonight ;-)

An extra 3!

See the extra 3 handsome devils in this photo (this was taken camping by the way).

We have them for a 2 night sleep over this weekend. Mum and Dad need to go on a special trip to see family. 5 boys in our house for over 48 hours... What did i get myself in for!! hahaha No Kidding, these boys play pretty darn good together. So i think it we will be fine. If all else fails, Winter has hit us, so they can always sleep outside with bruce! ;-)

Very Excited!

I was hoping i would get this book before the long weekend, but it arrived this morning..

Still i am very very excited to have this in my possession. Now i have a book i can look at any time to answer some of my questions!! I got this off eBay for something like $20 including postage as it is second hand. But there is seriously nothing wrong with it. So happy with my purchase.

I am hopeful that this will give me more of an insight into what essential oils are used or can be used for and how to use them. So i can (fingers crossed) implement them into my small business venture.. Very small may i add. Starting small and see what happens where it goes with Mani's and pedi's etc.

I've already read almost 50 pages, finding it hard to put down and do other things that need to be done. But I'm just SO interested in it.. Something that i rarely find, so am very happy about that! :-)

Invention Night

Sunday night is Invention Night for us..

This week we had a yummy aquaponic grown Bok Choy to use,

And we also had some Red Claw in the freezer. SO Ben took charge and cooked us an amazing stir fry!

Doesn't look much, but the flavour was amazing! We will be fighting over the leftovers at lunch time.. And it will be hard to top last nights dinner tonight, but ben is thinking of making some ravioli, from scratch of course. Best way to be made and eaten!!

Thankyou BLOGGER!

SO Blogger let me load photo's today, BUT not before not letting me sign into my blogger account.. What the?! I had to reset my password, even though i knew my password. Blogger wouldn't accept it, saying it was incorrect.. Incorrect my bum blogger! Start playing nicely for everyone!!

OK so here are some of our photo's, ben took more than me, his phone battery lasted longer than mine.. Will try get some of his loaded and put up on the weekend.

The view from my camp chair at our fire! LOVE IT!

The boys loved the prospect of going out each morning and seeing where the brumby tracks where, we even found some dingo tracks along the beach each morning as well. The brumbys have sort of taken over Rainbow Beach, walking where ever they want really.. 3 have taken up residence near the camp site we stayed at. You could hear there noises early in the morning. They didn't come too close to our camp ( I was worried they'd get caught up in some of our ropes) and we saw them but didn't get to close to them either, just a quick look from a distance then walked off for more adventures down the beach.

The beach

Blue Eyes being Blue Eyes!

This is our Nephew, he just insisted on me taking a photo of him pretending to surf on this bit of drift wood!!

Off to work for me today, it was a very cold day here yesterday, Boys are still sick. Cowboy getting better. Blue Eyes getting worse. Had a temperature last night, so need to watch him carefully today (well my mum has to anyway!) His cough doesn't sound good, but he doesn't cough very often so, hopefully a nice sunny day (like its shapeing up to be) will do him good!

Catch you all soon :-)
