It's that SEASON again!!!

FOOTBALL SEASON is here!!!!

This just shows how our Sunday Arvo's are spent!!

I made these biscuits, one of the recipe's i've been experimenting with.

I'm back to normal work hours now, yay!! Time to get everything sorted in our house.. and I mean everything.

We have watched a few doco's in the last couple of weeks and done some research. And it is time for us to start using/eating/ just generally being healthy, more eco concsious with what we do/use and eat!! Of course this would be much easier for us if we lived on a bigger yard (to grow all our own foods yum!). That is something we will look at in the next few months or so.

Hope you are all well, sorry but the footy is on and there are some yummy treats awaiting me (some of them made at home out of good healthy yummy items.. others not so good needing to be eaten up and gotten out of the house). :-)

Clean Up Australia Day

We just got home from participating in Clean Up Australia Day. We went out to Ben's work and walked the roads around it.

Here are the boys all ready to go! Gloves and bags at the ready!!

We did alot of walking! I loved it, the lil boys are very tired. They'd had enough half way through the trek but kept going, with the promise of a sausage sizzle drinks and ice blocks at the end!!

Rest time this afternoon!! :-)

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines day everyone!! Not sure how many of you celebrate it.. We completely missed it this year!! We made a good effort this morning.. We were both awake for awhile before we both sorta went Oh Yea, Happy Valentines Day Honey..... LOL

Ben went and picked some flowers out of our garden for me before he went to work! Best kind of Flowers!!

Beautiful aren't they!

I ruffled up some left over Xmas chocolates in the cupboard (we had forgotten about) and put them into a little gift box for him! hahahaha

We love each other, We already both know that, 2 little boys get in the way of remembering to get "special" gifts from the shops. But i quite liked our little love dashes this morning with alot of fun and laughter behind them!! Best kind of LOVE!!

It is also Ben's Dad's Birthday today!! The boys gave him a call this morning and yelled happy birthday down the phone line to their Granddad. And the best part he is coming through tomorrow with Grandma for a visit!! I haven't told the boys yet, as they will be beside themselves asking every 15 Min's how much longer til they get here and wont sleep tonight, so will be a massive surprise for them!

It is a snuggly raining day here today, wish it was Sunday not Monday, so Ben could have stayed home for snuggles and movies on Valentines day.. Maybe a movie together tonight!!! Hope your Valentines Day is Wonderful!! :-) Lots of LOVE Everyone!! hehe

Where is the time going?!

I can not believe we are already in February!!! Seems like time is flying by, as it feels like Christmas was months ago... But yet it was really only a handful of weeks ago. So much has happened in those short time.. Mind boggling!

We've really just been travelling day by day, The heat and humidity zaps alot of our energy, well i know it does for me more so than Ben. It's a much cooler day today which is very nice! Ben has once again moved into a different area at his work. The big boss came to him a week ago tell Ben that he wanted him as their Human Resources coordinator!!! So Ben has taken him up on the position, he is on trial and so far loving it. It is really good, Ben wanted to eventually get into the office, but wasn't sure when or what to do. This gave him the push to just go and try it. He can't do physical work forever and this will give him the edge he needs for his future! We are all happy! We do have get use to yet another routine.. This one is not that much different to the one before which is good. The boys are loving having him around so much more during the normal day to day runnings of our lives. Not just once a day anymore!! And if we are lucky when I'm not working he comes home for his lunch hour!! Yippee!! How cool is that!!

We've got lots of fun summer things to do over the next few weeks, going away drinks for a friend, 50Th birthday party for another friend. The possibility of camping. No doubt we will try do some fishing and beach adventure in there somewhere. So long as the weather holds up. We have a few long range weather forecasters throwing around some of the predictions that more cyclones are a possibility and that they could come as close down as our part of Queensland... Will see what eventuates.. But for now it is cloudy but it's not raining and our gardens have dried out some, so I've planted some more seed this morning, try and get some plants going for autumn! I'm about to go out and pull out the pumpkin and sweet potato vines that really have not done anything except grow longer from the rain.. Ben's Aquaponics was going great until he found a heap of dead silver perch in one tub and a few days late the water tube came out of another and drained all the water out onto the ground and not to the grow bed... So he lost some more fish.. He is not a happy camper, and is currently devising a plan to move it all somewhere else and making it bigger and better... Oh well these things happen and you learn from them!

Time for me to do some gardening :) Hope your part of the world is as happy as mine today :)

A Queensland Summer...

Hot, Humid, Flooding Rains, Now Tropical Cyclones.... If Queensland let alone most of Australia hasn't had enough this summer, Mother Nature is throwing us another curve ball... We have had 1 cyclone hit already the other day, Anthony was only a category 2. Cyclone Yasi however is now being predicted to be a category 5!!!!!!!!!
This is normally our weather pattern, but floods aren't usually so big and it usually skips a year or 2 between floods and cyclones. Below is a picture i found of Cyclone Anthony hitting the North Queensland Coast, While Cyclone Yasi is form out at sea.. She is much much closer now and will be hitting some time early tomorrow morning..

Wishing everyone in NQ good luck. But i hope everyone in the path of this monster have evacuated or are today!! Stay safe!!

Sunshine!

The sun is shining bright today, has been for the last couple. It is wonderful. Nice and hot to dry up all the water across our state.. The rain we had has moved slowly down through NSW and is now into Victoria.. They are now flooding in parts.. When will it stop!!!

Onto something cute, lighten the mood a little.. Our boys have finally mastered the peddles on their bikes!! I took a video this morning of them. Of course our dog Bruce had to be in on the act!

They ride their bikes in our carport, it's really the only flat spot to ride. But now they have mastered it, we can take them to our local park and ride the paths and not get in any one's way!

Just a small post today, the boys are a little emotional/dramatic about everything, not sure why but I'll work it out! Catch you all soon :-)

P.s. A big high five and well done to all the volunteers helping everyone clean up across our state! Aussie Spirit is Alive and well!!
