7 Days..

We have 7 days until our Cowboy starts Prep (school). He is very very excited! I'm very glad he is getting so excited about it. He has had a mixed bag of emotions over it the last few months. The actual first day, may be a different story. Grandma is coming to stay though and will look after Blue Eyes whilst I take him. As we've had over the years some separation anxiety for both boys. I really don't know how long I'll be at school with him the first day, so Grandma's help will be excellent!

Cowboy after getting his uniforms last week.. Super Duper Happy!!

I Finally got around to making some more Washing Gel, Lemon Eucalyptus, our clothes will smell great!

We've heard from a couple of people about a shop in Bundaberg called Nanna's Pantry. So we went to check it out yesterday.. It has now become my fave shop.

Both pictures are from Nanna's Pantry, they have all sugars, flours, dried fruit, lentils, beans the list goes on some standard and some organic. They make some of their own products i got us some of their peanut butter. They also have teas and coffee seeds/pods what ever they are called and will grind them too. A whole room of lollies as well, chocolate, nut mixes. We shall shop there often i think.

My New book, I've been told by Ben his dad wants to read this when I'm done, i better get reading then! Don't think I'll have any trouble he's a pretty interesting guy.

We went kayaking, fishing and prawning yesterday, for about 3 hours. Was excellent, I caught a baby shovel nose shark. Ben caught 2 baby bream and a heap of prawns in his cast net. Which turned into our dinner, Best prawns I've ever had! He is the best hunter gather and cook!!

Next weekend we have Ben's work Christmas weekend. So will sure to have some photo's to share! :-) xx

Invention Night

Sunday night is Invention Night for us..

This week we had a yummy aquaponic grown Bok Choy to use,

And we also had some Red Claw in the freezer. SO Ben took charge and cooked us an amazing stir fry!

Doesn't look much, but the flavour was amazing! We will be fighting over the leftovers at lunch time.. And it will be hard to top last nights dinner tonight, but ben is thinking of making some ravioli, from scratch of course. Best way to be made and eaten!!

It's that SEASON again!!!

FOOTBALL SEASON is here!!!!

This just shows how our Sunday Arvo's are spent!!

I made these biscuits, one of the recipe's i've been experimenting with.

I'm back to normal work hours now, yay!! Time to get everything sorted in our house.. and I mean everything.

We have watched a few doco's in the last couple of weeks and done some research. And it is time for us to start using/eating/ just generally being healthy, more eco concsious with what we do/use and eat!! Of course this would be much easier for us if we lived on a bigger yard (to grow all our own foods yum!). That is something we will look at in the next few months or so.

Hope you are all well, sorry but the footy is on and there are some yummy treats awaiting me (some of them made at home out of good healthy yummy items.. others not so good needing to be eaten up and gotten out of the house). :-)

Mummy thought wrong!

I've been trying to find an easy, no fuss receipe for muslei bars. For my wonderful boys to eat. I thought I was on to a winner today. The new found receipe only had a handful of ingredients, which can be substituted for others if wanting too. And the method for making was easy as.

Cowboy loves porridge, so thought the oats in his bars would suit.

This photo was taken off my phone, and my phone decided to crop the photo for me?! But you can tell they look pretty darn yummy.

Oats, desicated coconut, s/r flour, choc chips, honey and butter.

We had the taste test 10 minutes ago.

Blue eyes and myself enjoyed ours..

Cowboy had only taken a couple of bites, and protested ~ mummy i only like my muslei bars with honey and choc chips. NO uncle toby's (oats!)

Will see how he goes over the next week, as there are heaps and we don't go shopping until next week. (they are the only muslei type bars we have in the cupboard) Fingers crossed he is just pulling a 4 yr old moment. Which reminds me his birthday is in a couple of weeks! He turns 4 on the 8th August. I need to get cracking and find him a bicycle for his birthday!

Golly What a Day!

The hot summer day's are definitely here.
This morning we were talking about our plans for the day.
Our cowboy piped up and said..
"I know lets go to the beach today!"
Unfortunately we had some work planned for the day so no beach :(

Ben purchased some more sheeting to finish some walls off in the bar.

2 new walls YAY.

The corner in the bar is done.

Time to help daddy clean up!

Now it's time for some play time,
Blue eyes in is fave position his frog squat!!

Water time.

Love this photo, its blurry but i love how the water has shown up in it.
And you can see the dog in the background.
He is always near when water is about.

HAHA mum i pulled it out of the tube!

Ahah brother I'm gonna get you!

After a nap in the cool air con,
it was time again to go and play some more.
(frog squat again)

It is finally so nice to see some glimmer of hope
that the boys can
actually play good together.
They had a blast together this weekend.

Even riding the bike was on the agenda.
With some help of course,
little brother can't reach the pedals yet.
~~~~~~
Now to our dinner tonight..... EXPERIMENT TIME!!!!
hahahah and did it work out?????
Good question!
I found these skewers in the cupboard earlier in the week,
and it had me thinking all week.
I finally gave in and decided to stack them full and cook em' up.
Don't they look good???
We didn't have alot to put on.
I marinated the beef in a smokey bbq sauce,
added some onion and tomato to the skewers YUM.
Last this afternoon the batteries ran out on the camera,
BUGGER.
(just when we had a king parrot come and start eating our bird seed too)
So the final result photo was taken on my phone.
Not as good a photo as it could have been!
But very very yummy.
They worked out just like i had imagined... haha
Hope you all had a great weekend like we did.
It's now time for a nice deep sleep (fingers crossed)
to start the week afresh!
