7 Days..

We have 7 days until our Cowboy starts Prep (school). He is very very excited! I'm very glad he is getting so excited about it. He has had a mixed bag of emotions over it the last few months. The actual first day, may be a different story. Grandma is coming to stay though and will look after Blue Eyes whilst I take him. As we've had over the years some separation anxiety for both boys. I really don't know how long I'll be at school with him the first day, so Grandma's help will be excellent!

Cowboy after getting his uniforms last week.. Super Duper Happy!!

I Finally got around to making some more Washing Gel, Lemon Eucalyptus, our clothes will smell great!

We've heard from a couple of people about a shop in Bundaberg called Nanna's Pantry. So we went to check it out yesterday.. It has now become my fave shop.

Both pictures are from Nanna's Pantry, they have all sugars, flours, dried fruit, lentils, beans the list goes on some standard and some organic. They make some of their own products i got us some of their peanut butter. They also have teas and coffee seeds/pods what ever they are called and will grind them too. A whole room of lollies as well, chocolate, nut mixes. We shall shop there often i think.

My New book, I've been told by Ben his dad wants to read this when I'm done, i better get reading then! Don't think I'll have any trouble he's a pretty interesting guy.

We went kayaking, fishing and prawning yesterday, for about 3 hours. Was excellent, I caught a baby shovel nose shark. Ben caught 2 baby bream and a heap of prawns in his cast net. Which turned into our dinner, Best prawns I've ever had! He is the best hunter gather and cook!!

Next weekend we have Ben's work Christmas weekend. So will sure to have some photo's to share! :-) xx

Fish!

We went on our first proper fishing trip up the beach on the weekend. Their is a river near us, and the mouth of it is just up the beach. A 10 minute drive along the beach gets us to the mouth of it. And so we found it some decent fish there. I caught a baby Bream, Ben caught a Trevally and a Queenfish. Not to mention some of the live bait we caught in the cast net.

It really is a lovely spot.. But we've found that when the tide turns here, it does it fast. There is only one way in and out for driving up. So we have to keep a very close eye on the tide. Coming up next week, we should have good tides to go up early in the morning stay all day and return late in the afternoon. We can't wait its been quite awhile since we've able to spend all day at the beach fishing!

Ben and the boys qutie chuffed with his catch!!

Our Fishing Adventure.

We had a fantastic time on our fishing charter yesterday! My arms are sore, a little sun burnt, but that just means it was GOOD! Our first stop once out in the ocean was frustrating. Rainbow beach has a colony of Mutton birds descended on them, and i managed to catch 6 of the little blighters on my line, i also have the scratches to prove it! lol. But we pushed on, the birds tried to follow but eventually gave up! Thank goodness!

It was the best day for fishing, the sun was shining, hardly any wind about, PERFECT! And it was pretty much full of fishing, if we weren't fishing we were holding on travelling to a new spot. We all ate whilst fishing! No mucking around! Just what i wanted to, it was a full on day, but i love fishing SO much more now!

Our Catch!! Of course we caught alot more than this, but alot were under size and had to go back to grow! We have, a Cobia, Blue Tuna, Sweet lip, Moses Perch and some pearl perch! Funny thing is, i don't seafood! So Ben has some eating to do!

The boys getting excited over all the fish we got to bring home!

Ben and I with our BIG fish!
Ben holding a Cobia, and myself with my Tuna! My tuna was the biggest out of our catch, not the biggest on the boat, just between Ben and i hehehe. I caught it on a little 3kg Brim rod. I had to run round the boat 3.5 times to land it. I was close to having the line snapped a few times. But i had everyone on board giving me encouragement and moving all the gear so i could follow it until it was finally close enough to net it! Best feeling ever!

Now I'm not quite sure whether we should buy a camper trailer or a BOAT!! That is how much fun i had!!

This is the wonderful Keely Rose! Great boat and Great crew! Will be definitely going out with them again!
I'm totally buggered today, so not much going on, the boys had a blast at granny and pa's house, so has been a excellent weekend! Hope you are all having a great weekend as well!! :-)

SLEEP OVER!

Tonight (Friday night) the boys are sleeping over at Granny and Pa's, while Ben and I sleep over at His Aunties house so we are closer to Rainbow Beach for our Charter Tomorrow!!

I have to call the Charter People this morning and make sure all the weather will be suitable for fishing tomorrow. I purchased some sea sickness tablets yesterday. I don't think i will get sick, but just incase i will take some!

The boys are super excited about sleeping over at Granny's tonight, they haven't been to Granny's all week! So they will all have a blast!

Well I'm off to pack our things up and do some cleaning before work!

Hope your all having a great week, enjoy your weekend. I will try remember to take some photo's of our fishing to post on here. :-)

Its easy to get sidetracked!!

Saturday was filled with windy rainy weather. But when it wasn't raining we went outside to do some work.

Working hard for mummy and daddy. We harvested the rest of our onions and the leek we had (which today i made a soup with!) and cleaned out the gardens and dug them over a little.

Until someone found something

Oh look a worm, or as Blue eyes says WORMIE!!!

teasing the worm, by pretending to put him back in the garden.. Wormie stayed around for awhile to play, whether he liked it or not!

Big brother noticing that little brother is not working anymore and wondering why. Poor wormie ended up in 2 soon after this photo was taken.. The rain soon set in again after our garden work.

This is the garlic we had growing. We decided to peel some and sit them in oil so they last longer for us. But some how i don't think we grew enough. what we have wont last very long. We love our garlic.

On Sunday we had organised to go down to our friends place, for a fish and to watch the v8's race bathurst. But it was raining AGAIN! We left very early in the morning and pulled up along the Noosa River so Ben could have a fish...

Fishing in the rain.

I went and got a coffee and some breaky from the bakery across the road before Ben set out. The lady asked me what we had planned for the day. I told her of my plans to sit in the car with my boys and my coffee and watch my husband do some fishing.. She had a very good laugh at me! And Proclaimed at least hubby was thinking of me when suggesting i sit in the car, while he fishes.

Ben didn't fish for too long. The wind was very strong and cold. So we set sail for our friends place. And we decided to take all little boys (5 in total) plus their 2 mums to see Despicable Me. Whilst their daddy's had a few beers and watched the car race. So we still had a very good day, even if it was raining. Ben was most upset that he didn't get to fish properly. He will get to go again soon, we are going on a fishing charter in a few weeks time for our wedding anniversary, without little boys to take over fishing time. So fingers crossed the rain stops and the fish are a biting!!

Hope you all had a great weekend :)

Movies, Beach, FUN!!

Our Weekend was Fantastic, We went and stayed with our good friends at Noosa. So that we could not only go the beach in the beautiful winter sun and play and fish, but a certain movie came out this week that some certain boys wanted to see!

Toy story 3!!!

Together our friends and ourselves have 5 boys! Both our youngest are the same age, so they were to stay with the dad's whilst us mummy's went and enjoyed the cinema without 2 year olds mucking about. But our friends middle (same age as cowboy) had been a little naughty the past week and was not aloud to go, so their youngest joined us and was really well behaved. The 3 that we did take were great. This was cowboy's first cinema experience, and he loved it! The movie was great aswell.

After the movie and some lunch we went for a hike to a special fishing spot the big boys have been wanting to try. And it was definetly a hike to get to it. The lil boys played on the beach whilst the big boys scaled the cliff face to get some good fishing done. It was such a beautiful winter day sun out hardly any wind perfect for a beach play.

The View looking down to Sunshine Beach

The cliff was very high and the water very deep!

Sunset.

We spent the whole afternoon at the beach playing and hiking the cliff. The boys got a little cold/ tired / bored waiting for their daddy's to pack up.

So it was time to snuggle all together!

I have a couple of busy days ahead of me, organising to go up to Ben's dad's place on the weekend for a visit. And its Granny's birthday on saturday so she is coming over for dinner at our house on friday night, and Cowboy wants to bake her a cake aswell, so tomorrow we will be having some fun in the kitchen!

Hope your all having a great week! :-)

Fun in the Winter sun!

Yesterday we went for a fish and a play in the winter weather, before dropping in for a visit with our sil and family. It was a beautiful sunny day with a very chilling wind!! The boys had a great time, their noses are still a lil snotty from the wind, but haven't gotten any worse so that is always a good thing!

Our location for the morning.

Looking up towards the park that is at Norman Point, Tin Can Bay.

A baby Hammer Head shark Ben caught on his new rod.

The scenery including Ben!

The scenery.

This lady must have been a southerner, because there was NO WAY i was getting in that water for a swim! The wind must have been FREEZING when she got out!!! She also strolled down whilst Ben was un-hooking his shark... Would you go swimming when he just released it back into the bay???? Hmmmm missing a toe anyone?? lol

My new fishing rod!! When Ben and the boys picked me up from work on Friday night, this was sitting on the passenger seat! Cowboy told me the other day he wanted to buy me a purple rod. Ben couldn't get a purple one so got me a Red one, I don't really mind about the colour. As long as it works the way i want is fine by me. And it did, it's soooo much easier to cast with! love it!! ( work is going great by the way, loving it as well!!)

Blue eyes being tempted by the water!

Cowboy cutting up some bait for daddy!

After a couple of hours fishing, it was lunch time. So we went up to the park to cook some lunch. As soon as we sat down a butcher bird sat down on the rail with us, chirping for some food.. SO Ben fed it, then it went and told all its mates. We then had about a dozen flying around the place chirping for some food.. The boys thought it was great, and fed them all, all of their lunch! Luckily i practically pack a whole house when we got out, there was more food for them to fill their tummies not the birdies!

I didn't take any photo's at our sil's place, but the boys had a blast playing with their cousin's. As they always do! So did we, She had an undercover wear party. So i purchased a couple of items. Whilst Ben had a couple of beers with her partner. I also did a couple of practice manicures. What an action packed day we had!

Today is being spent at home. Catching up on the house chores as well as mixing it with lazy Sunday fun :-)

Hope your all having a great weekend!

Photo's of our weekend camping!

We had a wonderful weekend camping. A few showers here and there, but we did not get rained out or flooded out like previous camping trips! The temperature's were perfect. Nice and warm during the day for playing, Nice a cool at night for snuggling around the campfire!
Here are some photo's of our weekend.

Our campsite.

Our view.

This is where the boys played most of the time, up and down a fallen tree.

Ever get that sinking feeling!! Ben trying to have a rest while fishing.

Ben and his friend went for drive to put some crab pots in and on the way back, didn't quite make it through the mud hole!!

One of Ben's sunset photo's

Another good shot from Ben!

When the tide goes out here, it well and truly goes out. But it also makes for alot of fun in the sandy mud or the muddy sand!! And puddles!

We took our time packing up and leaving on Monday, we didn't really want to leave. The car must have known this, as it didn't want to start.. A dead battery! Luckily for the first time ever of us camping out there someone else was camping there as well. Well the whole place was packed out. We are usually the only ones. We had a lovely gentleman charge our battery for an hour off his generator. Hope you all had a great weekend as well.

I have to go and brainstorm some mothers day prezzies for our mothers!!
