Fun in the Winter sun!

Yesterday we went for a fish and a play in the winter weather, before dropping in for a visit with our sil and family. It was a beautiful sunny day with a very chilling wind!! The boys had a great time, their noses are still a lil snotty from the wind, but haven't gotten any worse so that is always a good thing!

Our location for the morning.

Looking up towards the park that is at Norman Point, Tin Can Bay.

A baby Hammer Head shark Ben caught on his new rod.

The scenery including Ben!

The scenery.

This lady must have been a southerner, because there was NO WAY i was getting in that water for a swim! The wind must have been FREEZING when she got out!!! She also strolled down whilst Ben was un-hooking his shark... Would you go swimming when he just released it back into the bay???? Hmmmm missing a toe anyone?? lol

My new fishing rod!! When Ben and the boys picked me up from work on Friday night, this was sitting on the passenger seat! Cowboy told me the other day he wanted to buy me a purple rod. Ben couldn't get a purple one so got me a Red one, I don't really mind about the colour. As long as it works the way i want is fine by me. And it did, it's soooo much easier to cast with! love it!! ( work is going great by the way, loving it as well!!)

Blue eyes being tempted by the water!

Cowboy cutting up some bait for daddy!

After a couple of hours fishing, it was lunch time. So we went up to the park to cook some lunch. As soon as we sat down a butcher bird sat down on the rail with us, chirping for some food.. SO Ben fed it, then it went and told all its mates. We then had about a dozen flying around the place chirping for some food.. The boys thought it was great, and fed them all, all of their lunch! Luckily i practically pack a whole house when we got out, there was more food for them to fill their tummies not the birdies!

I didn't take any photo's at our sil's place, but the boys had a blast playing with their cousin's. As they always do! So did we, She had an undercover wear party. So i purchased a couple of items. Whilst Ben had a couple of beers with her partner. I also did a couple of practice manicures. What an action packed day we had!

Today is being spent at home. Catching up on the house chores as well as mixing it with lazy Sunday fun :-)

Hope your all having a great weekend!

Our Very Busy Easter Sunday.

Our Easter Sunday started late Saturday night.

Excited much!!

First we had to leave out some goodies for the Easter bunny. But it had to be outside at the bottom of the stairs. Cowboy was a little worried that the bunny was going to actually come into our house while he was sleeping..

Midnight feast for the bunny!

So once the boys were finally in bed sound asleep, i set to putting some footprints up the stairs to show the bunny had been.. (Yes i know they get bigger, and i don't actually know what a bunny print looks like so i guessed. The boys don't know either yet so they thought nothing of it, this year anyway!)

And here is what the Easter bunny left at our house.

The boys woke early on Sunday, thinking it was a normal morning. Until Ben reminded them what we had left out..

One very happy boy! They both plowed into the chocolates, eating 1 small egg and 1 big egg at 6.30 AM!!!!!!

We then got ready and went for breakfast at my parents house with my brother, his partner and kids.

They had an Easter egg hunt and received some more chocolate and some socks and undies from Nanny and Grandad. As well as a very yummy cooked breakfast.

Then it was time to play, in the dirt first..

Then in the sand pile.. My mum said when they moved to this house 2 months ago, that she will NOT be putting in a sandpit for the grand kids. But the grand kids kept playing with the dirt around the cement area, putting it all over the cement. So she gave in and got a pile of sand for them to play in. And of course they love it!

We then went home for a rest, a big rest! Then decided to take the boys to our local duck ponds (park with big ponds, with ducks and turtles to feed, paths to ride bikes on and playgrounds). So they could burn off some chocolate!! We took some dinner with us to cook up on the public bbq's. It was a great way to end such a wonderful day. The boys had a blast playing and riding their bikes/scooter around the park!

Today is somewhat of a rest day to get over our big Easter Sunday, although i am about to bake some choc chip cookies to use up some of the chocolate sitting in the fridge... There is ALOT!!!

Hope you all had a great Easter as well! :)

Golly What a Day!

The hot summer day's are definitely here.
This morning we were talking about our plans for the day.
Our cowboy piped up and said..
"I know lets go to the beach today!"
Unfortunately we had some work planned for the day so no beach :(

Ben purchased some more sheeting to finish some walls off in the bar.

2 new walls YAY.

The corner in the bar is done.

Time to help daddy clean up!

Now it's time for some play time,
Blue eyes in is fave position his frog squat!!

Water time.

Love this photo, its blurry but i love how the water has shown up in it.
And you can see the dog in the background.
He is always near when water is about.

HAHA mum i pulled it out of the tube!

Ahah brother I'm gonna get you!

After a nap in the cool air con,
it was time again to go and play some more.
(frog squat again)

It is finally so nice to see some glimmer of hope
that the boys can
actually play good together.
They had a blast together this weekend.

Even riding the bike was on the agenda.
With some help of course,
little brother can't reach the pedals yet.
~~~~~~
Now to our dinner tonight..... EXPERIMENT TIME!!!!
hahahah and did it work out?????
Good question!
I found these skewers in the cupboard earlier in the week,
and it had me thinking all week.
I finally gave in and decided to stack them full and cook em' up.
Don't they look good???
We didn't have alot to put on.
I marinated the beef in a smokey bbq sauce,
added some onion and tomato to the skewers YUM.
Last this afternoon the batteries ran out on the camera,
BUGGER.
(just when we had a king parrot come and start eating our bird seed too)
So the final result photo was taken on my phone.
Not as good a photo as it could have been!
But very very yummy.
They worked out just like i had imagined... haha
Hope you all had a great weekend like we did.
It's now time for a nice deep sleep (fingers crossed)
to start the week afresh!
Busy Bumble Bee's
We had another wonderful weekend at home, busy doing lots of little things around the home. Cooking, gardening, playing, pulling down the other gazebo. And one major thing.... We sold our second car. Our lil Suzy has now left us.. We had been talking and thinking about it for awhile, and with a couple of days of Ben mentioning to the fellas at work, he had someone who was really keen to buy it. On Sunday afternoon he came for a look and said yes. We are now going to be able to save some money. Not a great deal, but it's one less rego to worry about, Less on our car insurance payments and a little less fuel (will see how that one goes after using the main car more frequently over the coming weeks). Ben was going to purchase an electric bike. It has a little electric motor on it but if that runs out you can convert back to pedal power. Only catch is they cost a little more than we had thought. So instead we purchased a mountain bike and if need be Ben can buy a conversion kit to convert it to electric as well as pedal!
Tonight will be the first night that Ben is riding his bike home from work... Ben works a 2 week roster. 1 week he starts early, 2nd week he starts at lunch and works until late at night. So the plan is on earlies he will ride to work and i pick him up when he is finished. On lates i will drop him to work and he rides home. If something happens (heavy rain) a work mate may be able to drop him home or i will go pick up or drop off.
The whole 1 car family situation has got me thinking about when i was young. We only had one car. Mum didn't work until my brother and were both attending school, even then she did home day care (still does). I remember going with mum to go pick dad up from work at the local newspaper, either at the office arranging the layout or at the printing press. If it was really late we would have to wait in the car, if it was early we could go in and see dad at work. I can't remember it in great detail i was quite young, but i will never forget the smell of the chemicals wafting around the place. It was so much fun to go and see what my dad was doing all day long ( in my eyes at the time what he was playing with hehe).
This is the only photo i could find of the suzy or zook. You can probably tell by this photo she was put through a lot of things... and proved herself through every one of them!
Late yesterday afternoon after a relaxing but busy weekend we decided to be naughty and get take away for dinner... We hadn't had takeaway in ages so we had been really good. We went and ate it at a park, the wind started to pick up though and the boys didn't get to have a play. So i promised to take them today after daycare. And i did. I thought we were going to get washed out, but no of course the rain didn't come our way :(
This is a playground at our local sporting fields. I love it, big ovals and hardly anyone comes to it!! (and lots of shade!)
Our cheeky cowboy showing off.
Blue eyes trying to work out the spinning drum.
The boys had a blast, they love the slides, Blue eyes walks up to try beat cowboy climbing the ladder. They meet almost at half way have a collision and slide down together, with loads of laughter!
Today Blue eyes had his 18 month needles.... I gave him some nurofen before going to the dr's, so if a temp was brewing it wouldn't be as bad. He was really good, didn't even cry for the needle, very tough boy. I almost cried for mine.. Anyway he went really good, mum said he slept for almost 2 hours, but the good news he feels fine no temp!! I think he wont get one. But to be safe i gave him some more nurofen before bed tonight just in case. I really do not want another febrile convulsion. I know another one is on the cards, but would like it to be quite a while after the last one.. Will see how we go!
I hope you all have a great week :-) xo
