Where is the time going?!

I can not believe we are already in February!!! Seems like time is flying by, as it feels like Christmas was months ago... But yet it was really only a handful of weeks ago. So much has happened in those short time.. Mind boggling!

We've really just been travelling day by day, The heat and humidity zaps alot of our energy, well i know it does for me more so than Ben. It's a much cooler day today which is very nice! Ben has once again moved into a different area at his work. The big boss came to him a week ago tell Ben that he wanted him as their Human Resources coordinator!!! So Ben has taken him up on the position, he is on trial and so far loving it. It is really good, Ben wanted to eventually get into the office, but wasn't sure when or what to do. This gave him the push to just go and try it. He can't do physical work forever and this will give him the edge he needs for his future! We are all happy! We do have get use to yet another routine.. This one is not that much different to the one before which is good. The boys are loving having him around so much more during the normal day to day runnings of our lives. Not just once a day anymore!! And if we are lucky when I'm not working he comes home for his lunch hour!! Yippee!! How cool is that!!

We've got lots of fun summer things to do over the next few weeks, going away drinks for a friend, 50Th birthday party for another friend. The possibility of camping. No doubt we will try do some fishing and beach adventure in there somewhere. So long as the weather holds up. We have a few long range weather forecasters throwing around some of the predictions that more cyclones are a possibility and that they could come as close down as our part of Queensland... Will see what eventuates.. But for now it is cloudy but it's not raining and our gardens have dried out some, so I've planted some more seed this morning, try and get some plants going for autumn! I'm about to go out and pull out the pumpkin and sweet potato vines that really have not done anything except grow longer from the rain.. Ben's Aquaponics was going great until he found a heap of dead silver perch in one tub and a few days late the water tube came out of another and drained all the water out onto the ground and not to the grow bed... So he lost some more fish.. He is not a happy camper, and is currently devising a plan to move it all somewhere else and making it bigger and better... Oh well these things happen and you learn from them!

Time for me to do some gardening :) Hope your part of the world is as happy as mine today :)

Another full week.

This week i am working everyday, except the weekend yay!!! Tonight will be a long night, i start work at 1.30pm and work until 9.00pm. I'm only use the the 4-5 hour day shifts, not late night shopping 7hour shifts... I'll be needing some coffee's to keep me going i think!

On a brighter note, we are going to spend most of the weekend at HOME!! yahoo. Finally a weekend that does not have any other plans set in concrete. I am however going to try do my mani/pedi prac exam on my wonderful mummy. I haven't given her either yet so i think she will enjoy it! Plus we will be doing all our normal household stuff spend as much time outside in the sunshine as possible. So far spring has been excellent, although the days are warming up fairly quickly, the nights are still nice and cool. All our flowers are out, are veggies are going great guns. Ben is awaiting some silver perch to arrive today to put in his aquaponics, which i need to do another post on and update you all, as it has completely changed since he first started it. He has learnt so much about it and is completely addicted to it, which is good he has found an excellent hobby that is going to grow us some food.
I haven't baked bread in awhile, so i purchased a 12kg bag of bread flour from the wholesalers yesterday. Went to make some last night, and my break maker has seized up. Just the bucket part, been sitting there not used for a couple of months, i think its a little cranky at me. So this morn i have been making some by hand, they are ok... not as good on the mixing as the machine tho lol!

anyway i best be off to get some more jobs done before going into work. Hope your all going well and enjoying your week :-)

Feeling weary..

I had another 3 full days of working this week!! I tell you what, yesterday i was very weary!! The working was great, I really love it!! First time ever (besides my jobs at home with my boys) have I said I love my job. My boss keeps telling me, you can't just stand around and wait for people, we have lots of jobs to do. But it is definitely not as much to do as my previous paid job. IT was crazy, too much to handle in my little brain. My new job is perfect. Clean and tidy shoes out on display. Receive stock in and send stock out. Pack and unpack stock. Sell shoes!! And you get to meet lots of different customers! I have nothing playing on my mind that i didn't get done whilst working, because it's all been done!

Its the getting home late after work with excited tired little boys, whilst mummy is a little tired that's hard. When Ben is on his early shift its good, i have daddy's firm voice to control them. But when he is on night shift.... arrrgghhhhh hair pulling time for mummy! We will get use to the routine eventually! I'm working the same 3 days again this week, so the more it happens the more we all get a good routine! (fingers crossed!)

Anyway, today I'm going to take some photo's of how our garden is going, Ben dug up some potatoes the other day. He was a little eager and they were a bit small, but still yummy!! I will post the photo's up tomorrow.

My Little Helper.

Today I had my first day of working at the shoe shop.. I actually can't remember if I mentioned that i got the job in my previous post or not?! But i got it!! And today i had my induction as well as a couple extra hours out on the floor. I really enjoyed it, alot of new information to store in my brain.

I'm a little tired tonight, Blue eyes is now sick.. Horrible cough and a very snotty nose, He is now our snot monster! Ben left work early today so he could take him to the Dr to make sure his cough wasn't an infection. Its not, not yet... The Dr sent them home with a prescription just in case it gets worse. Poor boy nothing worse than not being able to breath properly at night and all you want to do is sleep :(

On the CUTE front this week, my cowboy wants to help me do some cleaning! He keeps asking for things to do! So very cute! So his job after dinner is to wash up his and his brothers plates and cutlery (all plastic of course!). He of course thinks it's the best thing. And if i plan it right and use alot of plastic items he does the WHOLE washing up!! I must say our lil cowboy does a pretty decent job as well!

I now have plans to replace everything glass or ceramic to plastic, so he can wash all the time! hehe

I'm off to work again tomorrow and friday. We have another big Saturday planned, so will update you on sunday of our current events! lol :-)

Golly What a Day!

The hot summer day's are definitely here.

This morning we were talking about our plans for the day.

Our cowboy piped up and said..

"I know lets go to the beach today!"

Unfortunately we had some work planned for the day so no beach :(

Ben purchased some more sheeting to finish some walls off in the bar.

2 new walls YAY.

The corner in the bar is done.

Time to help daddy clean up!

it was time again to go and play some more.

It is finally so nice to see some glimmer of hope

that the boys can

actually play good together.

They had a blast together this weekend.

Even riding the bike was on the agenda.
With some help of course,

Good question!

I found these skewers in the cupboard earlier in the week,

and it had me thinking all week.

I finally gave in and decided to stack them full and cook em' up.

Don't they look good???

We didn't have alot to put on.

I marinated the beef in a smokey bbq sauce,

added some onion and tomato to the skewers YUM.

Last this afternoon the batteries ran out on the camera,

BUGGER.

(just when we had a king parrot come and start eating our bird seed too)

So the final result photo was taken on my phone.

Not as good a photo as it could have been!

But very very yummy.

They worked out just like i had imagined... haha
