Fish!

We went on our first proper fishing trip up the beach on the weekend. Their is a river near us, and the mouth of it is just up the beach. A 10 minute drive along the beach gets us to the mouth of it. And so we found it some decent fish there. I caught a baby Bream, Ben caught a Trevally and a Queenfish. Not to mention some of the live bait we caught in the cast net.

It really is a lovely spot.. But we've found that when the tide turns here, it does it fast. There is only one way in and out for driving up. So we have to keep a very close eye on the tide. Coming up next week, we should have good tides to go up early in the morning stay all day and return late in the afternoon. We can't wait its been quite awhile since we've able to spend all day at the beach fishing!

Centrepiece

We have collected some goodies from our walks and are going to use them for our Christmas table on Christmas Day. The Theme, Aussie/Beachy/Earthy Christmas... Would love to paint some of these to jazz them up a little more, but sort of defeats the purpose of earthy/natural.... What do you think???

I-C-E-CREAM!

When our close friends from Noosa (very soon to be our friends from Darwin!) were packing up there house to move. She decided she didn't want her ice cream maker anymore. And gave it to me. Along with a waffle maker.. The boys were so very excited.

So today we have made Ice Cream. There are many different recipes to make homemade ice cream. I choose a very very simple one for our first go.

The 4 ingredients needed. How easy.

Mixing. The bowl it's mixed in needs to be frozen first for at least 48 hours. The mixture once mixed initially needs to be put in the fridge to cool right down so it freezes easier when it is in the mixer above.

Finished product! YUM!!

I am now looking forward to trying the other variations/recipes and come up with some of my own too!!
